A community itinerary from Rebecca
With an Interrail Global Pass you can choose to travel in up to 33 European countries, tailor-making your own itinerary, even as you travel. Our Interrail community have shared many photos, maps and itineraries over the years, and we love to see where the Pass has taken you.
This itinerary was sent to us by Rebecca, who travelled from Sweden to embark on an eastern European adventure. Her route took her to 7 cities in 17 days, where she soaked up eastern Europe's rich history whilst exploring castles, museums and palaces. Rebecca’s photos are a perfect starting place for inspiration as you plan your next trip.
We've also added some travel tips to send you on your way.

From the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill that continues to convey the full might of Poland's historic monarchy, to the Main Square in the Old Town, Kraków symbolises the wealth and authority that the city has boasted since medieval times.

2. Germany
Berlin
Berlin is the capital of Germany and a one-stop melting pot of culture, entertainment and history. Imposing buildings and monuments are scattered throughout the city, serving as a stark reminder of its turbulent history. The Berlin Wall once divided East from West Germany, and since it crumbled in 1989 the city has become the gateway connecting eastern and western Europe.
Berlin's most famous landmark is the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor), once a symbol of a divided nation and now a symbol of unity and peace. You should also visit the rebuilt Reichstag, the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, the fully restored Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) and the Berlin Wall Museum.

Prague
Charles Bridge is a tourist attraction in its own right and the oldest bridge in Prague. It spans an impressive 516 metres across the Vltava river and boasts 30 sculptures of saints on the balustrade. You can touch the statue of St. John of Nepomuk to bring you good fortune. Don’t forget to visit the Old Town Square to view the Astronomical Clock and find somewhere that sells trdelník - a traditional Slovak pastry that originates from the Hungarian-speaking region of Transylvania.

Within 4 hours and 5 minutes, you’ll arrive in Vienna – the capital of music, sachertorte (chocolate sponge cake with apricot filling) and insanely impressive buildings. You’re spoilt for choice with all the palaces, gardens, museums and the State Opera House (the opera is optional, sampling the cakes is not). The city is packed full of history and each building has its own unique story, so give yourself plenty of time to explore.

Bratislava
With its compact old town, charming city streets, and outdoor café culture, Bratislava is well worth a visit. Be sure to check out the castle that proudly dominates the hillside next to the old town – you can’t miss it. From here, you can walk through the grounds for free and admire the view of the colourful city below.
Whilst you’re in town, sample the creamy garlic soup (Krémová cesnaková polievka) served inside a giant bread roll or potato dumplings with smoked meat (Zemiakové knedličky s údeným mäsom).
There are several routes to Budapest, but this one has the fewest connections.
