Visit Stari Grad, Kotor

 

The city of Kotor is rich with history and its Old Town is the place to be. Wander through the tiny streets to see the main sights, and glimpse the mountains between houses.

Climb the Ladder of Kotor

 

Ready for an adventure? Hike up the Ladder of Kotor, a historical hiking trail that zigzags up the mountain. You can stop at Kotor Fortress and return to the town via the Old Town Walls, or continue upwards for the very best views.

Visit Our Lady of the Rocks, Perast

 

Perast is a charming fishing village just around the Bay of Kotor, but holds surprising historical significance. It's a great day trip on your tour of Montenegro and wouldn't be complete without taking a boat out to Our Lady of the Rocks. This artificial islet sits dramatically in the bay, with the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks in the centre.

Go palace hopping in Perast

 

Perast might look like a sleepy fishing village, but it's actually home to 16 different palaces! Formerly belonging to the Perast brotherhoods, these magnificent buildings sit quietly by the sea. Top sights include the baroque palace Bujovic, Sestokrilovic and Zmajevic.

With its electric blue water and rock formations, the Blue Cave needs to be on this bucket list. For the best experience, take a snorkel mask and dive beneath the waves to witness the beauty beneath.

Set high above the stunning town of Kotor is the 9th century fortress of San Giovanni, considered a top highlight of the city. Wander around the ancient fortress walls, learning about the history of this marvellous site. Then, turn and face the way you came to see the most incredible views of Kotor's Old Town and the fjord. Don't forget to take your camera!
