1. Awakenings Festival, the Netherlands

Dates: 13 - 14 May 2023

Begin your ultimate summer party at one of the biggest techno festivals in the world, Awakenings Festival in Amsterdam. Use your Interrail Pass to get to Amsterdam-Sloterdijk station, then catch the shuttle bus to the festival. You'll see the biggest names in techno from around the world, plus the Dutch party crowds are hard to beat with their contagious good vibes.

Depending on how you’re feeling, you can choose to spend the next couple of days in recovery, or the partying can continue with endless choices across the Netherlands that range from underground cave raves, industrial locations, urban R'n'B joints and more. Basically, there is something for every mood!

Next stop, Berlin! Take the train from Amsterdam Centraal to Berlin HBF. You can go direct in under 6h 30m or plan some stops along the way if you feel up to it!
Melt Festival, Germany

2. Melt Festival, Germany

Dates: 8 – 11 June 2023

Get ready for another sleepless weekend with Melt Festival in Germany... Take the train from Berlin HBF to Dessau or Wittenberg to catch the shuttle service to the festival site. Melt's extensive line-up promises an unforgettable open-air festival with a huge variety of music, staying on the ‘cooler’ side of European dance. 

 

Keep the party going...

Don't tire yourself out too much as Berlin is going to need a lot of energy! Spend a few days and nights exploring the German capital's undeniably cool culture and wild nightlife. Berlin is home to the infamous Berghain, plus many other clubs that open on Thursday and doesn't close until Monday – so make sure you stick around for a big Berlin weekend!

Next stop, Munich! Hop on the train at Berlin HBF and relax during your 4-hour journey to Munich.

3. Munich, Germany - Beer Tasting

Okay, so it's not a festival, but where better to take a quick breather than a city famous for its beer halls? Here you can do some sightseeing and chill out if needed, but don't forget to soak up the atmosphere and the local beer at the classic Bavarian beer halls. It's the perfect stop-off before your next big adventure...

Next stop, Prague! You can go direct from Munich to Prague in under 6 hours, giving you some time to rest before your next party.

4. Air Festival, Czech Republic

Dates: 28 - 29 July 2023

On to the next party! Air Festival in the Czech Republic is now one of the biggest EDM events in the country, hosting the biggest names in EDM, house, trance, techno and more. Take a 90-minute train from Prague to Hradec Králové, then catch the bus to Festivalpark. Expect nothing but craziness with a lot of confetti, smoke and fireworks...

 

Keep the party going...

Prague is well known for its clubbing scene, and is actually home to the biggest club in Central Europe – Karlovy Lázně – which has 5, yes 5, stories. Here you're sure to find a room that suits your taste, from dance and hip-hop to oldies and chill-out tunes.

Next stop, Budapest! Board the train in Prague and reach Budapest Nyugati in just under 6h 30m, or take the night train to Budapest Keleti and save on accommodation costs.
Sziget Festival, Budapest

5. Sziget Festival, Hungary

Dates: 10 – 15 August 2023

Sziget Festival is situated on Óbuda Island in Budapest and is easy to reach by public transport. It is one of the biggest festivals in Europe, and the ultimate escape into music, art and culture. With plenty of big names on the bill, Sziget is famous for having a line up that literally has something for everyone. This year's line up includes Arctic Monkeys, Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa and many more!

 

Keep the party going...

If all this festival-hopping is taking its toll, Budapest is a great place to sit back, relax and hit up the spas. Or if you want to keep the good times going, you can explore the city's unique ruin bars. If you're craving some classical culture, your Interrail Pass also gives you the freedom to swing by Vienna on your way from Prague to Budapest.

Next stop, Croatia! Reach Zagreb in under 6 hours from Budapest Kelenfoeld, then catch a bus towards Novalja, which will take about 5 hours.

Dates: 20 – 24 August 2023

And now for the grand finale... Sonus is an epic festival consisting of three clubs, beach parties, boat parties and much more. All the party action takes place on white sand beaches with crystal blue waters – truly the dream festival to end your summer with!

If you’re loving the summer vibes, and want to keep the party going, the festivals in Croatia don’t stop! Dimensions Festival (1 - 5 September) always hosts an iconic lineup of the best in the business, located at The Garden Resort in Tisno. If you’re coming from Novalja, it’s about a 5-hour journey, and from Split it’s around 3 hours.

From Tisno take a bus to Zagreb, where you can catch many onward international train connections or call it a day and board a flight home.
