What is a travel day

A travel day is a 24-hour period in which you can travel on trains with your Interrail Pass. It lasts from 00:00 (midnight) to 23:59 on the same calendar day. You have access to the train networks where your Interrail Pass is valid on each travel day.

Save travel days with night trains

You need a Global Pass to travel on cross-border night trains; however, you only have to use one travel day (the day of departure if the train departs before 23:59). If you want to continue travelling after the night train has arrived, you will need to use a new travel day.

Travel in my country of residence

You can use your Interrail Global Pass for one outbound and one inbound journey to/from your country of residence (this means you can travel to the exit or entry station, port, or airport).

All other travel in your country of residence is not permitted.

Activation vs first travel day

You have up to 11 months from the date of purchase to activate your mobile Pass.

You have the option to select your first travel day in advance or when you're ready to activate the Pass.
